So what if it’s snowing, in Angel Fire you can hike year round. Just bring your snowshoes or rent some at a local sporting goods store. Snowshoe trekking is a fun and inexpensive way to take a break from skiing or snowboarding, and you can take the dog along to get some winter exercise.
Our Village trails system offers over 50 miles of scenic trails, so you can get out in the open and enjoy the crisp winter air and stunning views, all within the town boundaries. Most of these trails are easy to moderate levels.
Angel Fire Resort Nordic Center
The Angel Fire Resort Nordic Center, located at the Angel Fire Resort Country Club also offers snowshoeing, sledding and cross country skiing.
Enchanted Circle Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe area
North of Angel Fire, approximately 24 miles, the Enchanted Circle Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe area offers several kilometers of snowshoe at some of the highest elevations in the area.
Carson National Forest & Moreno Valley
Outside Angel Fire, you can snowshoe on the trails in the Carson National Forest. These are more challenging, but offer even greater views of the Moreno Valley. Pick up a picnic lunch from one of our local restaurants, and go where no man has trod since the snow started falling.
